Interestingly if you were to break down communication into view elements then you would be looking at roughly 70% body language, 23% the way you say it and around 7% is what you say. So this is why politicians may look and sound convincing but what they say is nonsense! A similar thing can be said for sales and other professions, if you harness better non verbal communication (NVC) your conversion rates are increased dramatically.
So telesales you lose out on body language down the phone but if it helps going through the motions as if in front of the person, do it - afterall it will probably help convey the message more effectively in terms of how you say things and indeed the actual thing you're saying!
